Preliminary assessment request for prior academic record
What is it?
It is an application through which the user requests an assessment of their academic record in advance prior, that is, before they have performed the act that formally marks the start of the academic career (enrolment, transfer, change of programme, etc.), for the purpose of identifying any possible recognition of examinations.
Once the assessment request has been submitted, the student receives an automatic email confirming completion. The Office for Calls and Enrolments will make available on the Esse3 portal an invoice of € 50.00 + stamp duty of € 16.00, payment must be made strictly using the PagoPA system.
Only once payment of the assessment fee has been confirmed will the request be formally processed.
Guide to using the PagoPA system
Starting from the next billing cycle (May), payment of university fees will be made through the new PagoPA system which guarantees electronic payments to public administrations in a secure and reliable manner.
It is an initiative promoted by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, which every public administration is required to join.
To make the payment, simply access the "payments" section of the reserved area to retrieve the invoice to be paid and choose whether to:
- pay online: click the "Pay online" button and select among:
- credit card, by using one of the proposed banking institutions;
- bank transfer (home banking): check the list of credit institutions to see whether yours is included; if so, simply select it to proceed with the payment.
- pay in person: click the "Payment Notice" button and print the payment notice to present at one of the authorized merchants or one of the credit institutions participating in PagoPA.
The payment will be automatically recorded in our management system almost simultaneously with the actual payment date.

For this type of assessment, which is strictly academic in nature, requests are forwarded by the Student Services Office directly to the competent Department, which must issue the assessment decision. For this reason, it is advisable to submit requests in advance, so as to obtain the decision within the deadline for subsequent enrolment (or transfer, change of programme, etc.).
The preliminary assessment of prior academic record does not interrupt the deadlines prescribed for admission procedures and participation in competitions, nor does it amend or replace the aforementioned requirements.
The outcomes of the requested assessments will be sent to the e-mail address provided by the applicant when completing the application.
N.B. During completion, you will be asked to attach a self-certification of prior academic record prepared using the templates below.
It is possible to self-certify the previous degree by attaching the self-certification downloadable independently from your personal page, both for degrees obtained at the Polytechnic University of Bari and at other universities. The aforementioned document must be duly signed.
For academic records completed at other universities, it is mandatory to attach to the application the official syllabi of all examinations for which assessment is requested, downloadable from the website of the home university, including the names of the lecturers for the subjects.
It is necessary to include the self-certification of examinations taken and the examination syllabi in a single file.
ATTENTION: The preliminary assessment of prior academic record concerns only credits that may possibly be validated; IS NOT the assessment of the prerequisites required in order to access a master's degree. To obtain eligibility for enrolment in a master's programme, it will be necessary to follow the new admission procedure.
