N.B. Those who obtain their Upper Secondary School Diploma in 2027 (school year 2026/2027) and pass the TOLC I with a qualifying score must register for the competition on Poliba Esse3 and subsequently enrol in the A.Y. 2027/2028. Enrollment dates for winners placed in a useful position in the ranking: from 00:01 (GMT+1) on 24.11.2026 to 14:00 (GMT+1) on 27.11.2026.
Enrolment for eligible candidates who were not successful: Subject to places being available and completion of the relevant questionnaire provided as part of the competition registration procedure on poliba esse3, a further ranking list will be published for all candidates who have not been admitted and who indicated additional preferences beyond their first choice. They will be reassigned according to the order of preference indicated, based on their score and, in the event of a tie, their age.

Only those who intend to enroll in the P-Tech pathway, offered exclusively at the Taranto Campus, must use from their ESSE3 personal page the Admission Test called TARANTO P-TECH PROGRAMME LT17 COMPUTER AND AUTOMATION ENGINEERING (Second Standard Session) – All other candidates for a three-year Engineering degree course must use the Admission Test bearing only the title "SECOND STANDARD SESSION";
Note: Registration for the competition on the Polytechnic University of Bari ESSE3 portal is essential as it is intended for the choice of the Degree Course and the consequent possibility of being included in the Ranking. Registration on the esse3 portal NO provides the possibility of choosing the date on which the test will be taken; this date must be selected exclusively through the CISIA portal and is not shown on the ESSE3 portal.
Enrollment dates for winners placed in a useful position in the ranking: from 07.10.2026 to 12.10.2026.
Enrolment for eligible candidates who were not successful: subject to the availability of places and completion of the appropriate questionnaire made available within the procedure for registering for the competition on poliba esse3, an additional ranking list will be published for all those who are not admitted and who have expressed further preferences in addition to their first choice; they will be reassigned according to the order of preference expressed, based on the score obtained and, in the event of equal scores, on their age. The questionnaire will not be made available for the Admission Test called TARANTO P-TECH PROGRAMME LT17 COMPUTER AND AUTOMATION ENGINEERING (Second Standard Session) – in view of the wide availability of places still remaining for the specific programme.

Only those who intend to enroll in the P-Tech pathway, offered exclusively at the Taranto Campus, must use from their ESSE3 personal page the Admission Test called P-Tech Path Lt17 Taranto – (Second Early Session). All other candidates for a three-year degree course in Engineering must use the Admission Test entitled Engineering Admission Test (Second Early Session).
Note: Registration for the competition on the ESSE3 portal of the Polytechnic University of Bari is essential as it is intended for the selection of the Degree Course and the consequent possibility of being included in the ranking. Registration on the esse3 portal NO provides the possibility to choose the date of the test, which must be booked on the CISIA portal according to the provisions of Cisia and taken on the CISIA portal no later than 27/07/2026, and to have obtained a minimum score of 18/50. The date indicated on the esse3 portal is only the opening date of the session.

At its meeting of 10 June 2026, item 6 of the agenda, the Academic Senate approved the procedures for the assignment and fulfilment of the Additional Learning Requirements (OFA) for students enrolled in the Bachelor’s Degree Programmes in Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Bari for the academic year 2026/2027 (Art. 9 of Rector’s Decree No. 91/2026)
Who is required to fulfil the OFA?
Students enrolling in a Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Engineering in the academic year 2026/2027 in the Standard Sessions (First and Second) and in the Extraordinary Session who obtained a total score in the TOLC I between 12.00 and 17.75 points out of 50 are required to fulfil the OFA.
Which OFA is assigned?
Mathematics OFA: it is assigned if the score in Mathematics is below 10 points or if the score in Logic is below 5 points.
The OFA may be fulfilled:
- by attending the Mathematics preparatory course and passing the final test;
- or by passing the curricular examination in Mathematical Analysis (Module 1) or Geometry.
Physics OFA: in all other cases.
The OFA may be fulfilled:
- by attending the Physics preparatory course and passing the final test;
- or by passing the curricular examination in General Physics (Module 1), Computer Science or Chemistry.
How are the preparatory courses conducted?
To support students in recovering basic skills, specific remedial pathways will be activated through:
- intensive in-person preparatory courses, accompanied by online materials;
- alternatively, asynchronous digital training activities.
For students with OFA and for those enrolling in any extraordinary sessions, an additional class is also provided for the common first-year courses.
By when must the OFA be fulfilled?
The OFA must be fulfilled by 30 September 2027.
A student who has not fulfilled the OFA by that deadline:
- may still enrol in the following year;
- however, they will not be able to obtain credits for second- and third-year courses until the OFA has been fully fulfilled.

Admission to years after the first year in Bachelor's Degree Programs in Engineering (academic year 2026/2027)
For all information on the admission procedure for years subsequent to the 1st year of the Bachelor’s Degree Courses in Engineering for A.Y. 2026/2027, it is necessary to consult the R.D. 279/2026.
Dates and deadlines of the admission procedure
Interested students must submit an application, via the online form on the Esse3 portal, from 03.09.2026 to 01.10.2026 by 23:59 (GMT+2).
To access the online form on Esse3 the candidate must log in to their personal Esse3 page and, from the Secretary's Office, enter the section Admission Test and select the competition entitled:

N.B. The preliminary assessment of prior academic records is a procedure separate from the request for admission to subsequent years and the related change of degree programme and therefore is not mandatory for those applying for admission to subsequent years.
Submitting the application for assessment of prior academic records does not constitute participation in the competition for admission to years after the first and does not result in inclusion in the ranking list.

NOTICE Admission test for the Bachelor's Degree Programme in Design
All admission test sessions for the Degree Programme in Design will take place, for the video connection, on the Microsoft Teams Platform on Thursday 10 September 2026 at 9:30 a.m..
Each candidate will receive an email at the address provided during registration for the Competition on poliba esse3 with an invitation to the virtual classroom, which must be accepted (for the video connection).
This connection must be made from a device different from the one on which the test will be taken.
Each candidate will also receive an additional email with all the instructions to follow for configuring the PC and for taking the test.
N.B. Each candidate is strongly advised to monitor carefully the email address provided during registration.

The Bachelor's Degree Course in “Architecture Sciences for Heritage” is an International Inter-University Course, conceived as a joint program between the Politecnico di Bari and the “Ismail Qemali” University of Vlora (Albania), with administrative headquarters at the Politecnico di Bari and teaching locations at the “Ismail Qemali” University of Vlora and the Politecnico di Bari. In particular, the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th semesters are delivered in Vlora; the 3rd and 6th semesters are delivered in Bari. Student mobility between the two Universities is structured and regulated by an agreement between the two Universities.
As it takes place and is oriented within an international context, the course is delivered in English and awards a joint degree valid in Albania, Italy, and the European Community.
Number of places available:
- No. 15 places for EU candidates and non-EU candidates legally residing in Italy;
- No. 35 places for non-EU candidates residing abroad, of which no. 1 place is reserved exclusively for students of the People's Republic of China participating in the “Marco Polo” Project.

Bachelor’s Degree Program in Architecture Sciences for Heritage
The Bachelor’s Degree Program in Architectural Sciences for Heritage is an inter-university program conducted in English in collaboration with the “Ismail Qemali” University of Vlora, Albania.
The degree is a Joint Degree Program between the Polytechnic University of Bari and the University of Vlora, with administrative headquarters at the Polytechnic University of Bari and educational activities taking place at both the "Ismail Qemali" University of Vlora and the Polytechnic University of Bari. Specifically, the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th semesters are held in Vlora, while the 3rd and 6th semesters are held in Bari.
The number of places available for enrollment in the Bachelor’s Degree Program Architecture Sciences for Heritage at the Polytechnic University of Bari (Class L-17 – “Architectural Sciences”) is 50 (provisional number), distributed as follows:
- 15 places for EU candidates and non-EU candidates legally residing in Italy;
- 35 places for non-EU candidates residing abroad, including 1 place reserved exclusively for students from the People’s Republic of China participating in the “Marco Polo” Program.
