In January 2020, the Polytechnic University of Bari, Isires, a private research organization, and Electric 80 SpA and SM.I.LE80 srl, leading companies in the transport automation and logistics sector, signed an agreement to create a new public-private laboratory called “IOT 4.0”. The objective is to develop innovative projects in the logistics sector through the optimization of the automated management of pallet picking, the planning of automatic transport and, more generally, of certain logistics activities through the use of augmented reality technologies, industrial IoT systems, and advanced control algorithms.
