COLLEGE ITALY - H2CU
College Italia is a real estate complex consisting of a group of small apartments located in a condominium in Manhattan, New York (225 Rector Place - Battery Park). Of these apartments, the Polytechnic University of Bari is an owner together with five other Italian universities (Rome "La Sapienza", Perugia, Cassino, Molise, and Brescia). These educational institutions, together with 15 other Italian universities and 3 CNR institutes, are members of the consortium in theHonors Center of Italian Universities or H2CU (website: www.h2cu.org), which aims to develop joint academic and research programs with Universities in the USA.
The apartments of College Italia are intended to accommodate students on mobility programs at Universities and Institutions of recognized prestige in the city of New York, primarily within the framework of agreements of Double Degree or other joint Italy-USA study programmes. The Polytechnic University of Bari has agreements with Columbia University (http://www.columbia.edu), Pace University (http://www.pace.edu) , and the Polytechnic University of New York (http://engineering.nyu.edu).
The Polytechnic University of Bari is entitled to host its students in 6 beds. In the absence of requests from students, the beds may be assigned to Polytechnic faculty members on mobility for study and research. The categories that may make use of the beds and the selection criteria are indicated in the "Internal regulations of the Polytechnic University of Bari for the assignment of beds at College Italia".
APPLICATION SUBMISSION FOR ADMISSION TO THE COLLEGE
Beds in the college are assigned in 3 periods of the year: the "Spring term" (1 January - 30 May), the "Summer term" (1 June - 20 August), and the "Fall term" (1 September - 22 December). It is not possible to submit a single accommodation application for multiple terms: those interested in longer stays, for example for one year, must submit an accommodation application for each new term.
Applications for the assignment of a bed place must be submitted through the College website, which also provides all the information regarding the deadline for submitting applications, forms, general rules for the use of the apartments, etc.
