The Polytechnic University of Bari has a new Director General. His name is Enrico Brighi, who will turn 49 in a few days, is originally from Forlì and comes from the University of Pavia, where he has worked for the past five years, serving as Head of the Information Systems Area and Deputy Director General. Having taken office at the beginning of the week, Brighi attended his first meeting of the Academic Senate at Poliba yesterday and today the Board of Directors, alongside the Rector, Umberto Fratino, who took office on October 1.

With a background in information systems and expertise in ICT management, Brighi also has experience in the human resources sector. Before Pavia, the newly appointed Director General of the Polytechnic University of Bari served at the University of Siena in a similar role and, before that, at the Cineca consortium, one of the largest computing centers in Italy, starting as an analyst and consultant in business intelligence and management control and eventually becoming Service Unit Manager for services and products for university administration.

Among his experiences outside academia is also business consulting in the private sector, always in the ICT field. Enrico Brighi takes up the position at the Polytechnic University of Bari for the next three years, succeeding Professor Loredana Ficarelli, a faculty member and former Deputy Vice Rector, who had been entrusted with the role of Acting Director General.
